1. Who we are

MailCrafts ("we", "us", "our") operates the website https://mailcrafts.app and related services. We provide AI-powered email writing tools that connect with your Gmail account.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
• Google account data: When you sign in with Google or connect Gmail, we receive your Google profile (name, email, profile picture) and access to your Gmail via OAuth 2.0.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and error logs — for improving the service.
• Communications: If you contact us by email, we keep those messages to resolve your inquiry.

3. How we use Gmail data

MailCrafts' use of data received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• We access your Gmail only to provide the email reading, summarising, composing, and sending features you use within MailCrafts.
• We do not store your email content on our servers. Email data is processed in real-time and discarded.
• We do not use your Gmail data to train AI models.
• We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your Gmail data to any third party for advertising or any purpose unrelated to providing MailCrafts features.
• We do not allow humans to read your email content unless you explicitly share it with us for support purposes.

4. Data sharing

We share data with third parties only in these circumstances:

• AI processing: Email text you submit for rewriting or analysis is sent to an AI API provider (e.g., Anthropic/OpenAI) solely to generate the requested output. These providers are contractually prohibited from storing or using your data for training.
• Infrastructure: Our hosting provider processes data as part of normal operations. They are bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

We never sell personal data. Ever.

5. Data retention

Account information is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@mailcrafts.app. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

Email content processed by MailCrafts is not stored and is not subject to retention.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and OAuth 2.0 for Gmail access (we never see or store your Google password). However, no system is 100% secure. Please choose a strong password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Revoke Gmail access at any time via Google Account Permissions
• Opt out of non-essential communications (see our unsubscribe page)

8. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.

9. Children's privacy

MailCrafts is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify registered users by email for significant changes. Continued use of MailCrafts after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
